Hello, I’m Dr. Ragavan Mahadevan, a board-certified psychiatrist with 15 years of experience providing compassionate, comprehensive care for mental health conditions. I know that seeking help can feel overwhelming. Rest assured, I will make sure you are comfortable and together we’ll take the time to learn who you are and individually tailor treatment to you. To let you know a little about me, I was raised in Arizona and Arkansas before going to college at Cornell University and then returning to Arkansas and Arizona for medical school and psychiatry training. After working in different settings (clinics, hospitals, ERs) around the country, I have been working as an Adjunct professor at the University of Texas Health system in Houston, seeing underserved patients in community clinics. This training and experience has given me specialized expertise in understanding the connections between your physical and mental health, integrating therapy and medication (if needed) using the latest evidence-based approaches to help you find the right balance in your life so you can feel fulfilled and at peace. Policies - We see patients 18 years of age and older only. - We do not directly work with insurance plans, but will provide you a Superbill statement so that you may get reimbursement from your insurance company if they allow out-of-network services. - Regarding no-shows and late cancellations: You must cancel with 24 hours notice or you will be charged the full fee of the appointment. - We are a virtual practice only. As such, this practice may not be appropriate if you have a condition that may benefit from being evaluated in person. Due to the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act and Medical Board regulations regarding virtual visits, we are not able to prescribe any controlled substances. This includes but is not limited to the following medications: Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Ativan), stimulants (Adderall, Vyvanse), and certain sleep medications (Ambien, Lunesta). You may be offered alternatives to these, but if you are taking any of these regularly, you will need to safely taper off them before our visit.
