Rachel is a graduate of St. Louis University where she received her Master's in Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. Rachel has extensive experience working with children and adolescents exposed to complex trauma, Autism, emotional/behavioral disabilities and various mental health concerns. Rachel has worked within the school system for many years, specifically, navigating the special education system, creating school and classroom interventions and identifying students in need of additional support. Rachel utilizes a variety of treatment modalities but universally works from a strengths based and client centered framework. She believes in the healing power of play to help children process their emotions and experiences without the need for words. Through creative interventions children and adolescents heal and increase their emotional regulation, social skill development and communication skills. Rachel is certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics which is a trauma treatment modality which focuses on identifying areas of an individual's brain that may have been impacted from trauma and creating interventions to strengthen these areas to foster lasting healing from traumatic experiences.
