Rachel Ratafia-Levine Resident in Counseling/ Licensed Professional School Counselor Rachel is a Resident in Counseling (LRC) in VA working towards being a Licensed Professional Counselor. Rachel is currently on her 14th year working as a Licensed Professional School Counselor within Fairfax County Public Schools. She graduated with a Masters in Counseling from The George Washington University in 2009. Rachel’s area of concentration is communication skills, social skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral concerns. Using cognitive-behavioral and solution focused counseling strategies, Rachel provides a safe space for children and adolescents to explore their deepest emotions and challenges. She believes that through counseling, individuals learn effective strategies and tools for coping outside the therapy room. Rachel believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist, the client and their family that allows children and adolescents to be able to meet their full potential. She is available for individual and family counseling. Rachel is experienced in the IEP and 504 process within the school setting. As a 504/IEP consultant, she is an experienced resource and advisor who can help walk you through the process. Furthermore, she is available to sit in on meetings as an invited team member to help determine the needs and/or designing the most appropriate educational program for a student.
