I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I have spent the past decade helping individuals develop a stronger sense of compassion for themselves and build mastery over their own identity. I'm a big believer in the power of being seen and a firm supporter of using humor, metaphors, and the occasional nerdy reference to make therapy feel like a space you actually want to be in! I work primarily with young adults (ages 22-40ish) navigating anxiety, a lack of purpose, low self esteem, trauma, or those big scary questions about identity and self. My passion lies in supporting folks in the LBGTQIA+ community and those exploring their gender identity or sexual orientation - whether you're newly questioning or deep in the middle of a journey with no clear map. While I tailor my specific therapeutic interventions to meet your needs, my preference is for a conversational non-directive approach to explore and discover underlying patterns that may be influencing your experiences. I am a person-centered therapist first and foremost - which means I prioritize placing you and all of your intersecting identities at the center of the story. You are the expert of your own life and I'm here to walk beside you, provide feedback, and most importantly provide you the space you need to explore ALL parts of you and your experience (even the parts you're not too proud of). I believe therapy should be a collaborative shame-free zone where you feel genuinely supported. That means you do not have to show up polished or perfect - you just have to show up as you. You can also expect: no psychobabble or condescending vibes; real talk, gentle honesty, and a lot of curiosity; permission to be weird, silly, and beautifully human. As we work together, my hope is that you will gradually feel more centered in your sense of self. You'll feel like you are making decisions more thoughtfully and that you are acting in accordance with your values. We'll go at your pace. We'll celebrate your wins. And when things feel heavy, I'll help you carry them. I am queer-affirming, trans-affirming, sex-positive, and practice the Health at Every Size philosophy. I also am comfortable working with individuals in the kink/BDSM community as well as individuals practicing consensual non-monogamy or otherwise participating in polyamorous relationship structures. When not in session, I've been known to throw myself into any number of hobbies. I enjoy baking, reading horror novels, crocheting, playing video games, and spending time with my spouse and our 3 cats (Eliza, Alan Rickman, and Aloy). Are you ready to get started?
