Clinical Psychologist Rachel Nilsen, PhD
Specialties: Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Life Transitions

Introduction

Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and the success of therapy often depends on the "match" between client and therapist. Contact me and determine whether I might be a good fit for you. I work with individuals in a collaborative manner who are feeling stuck, sad, anxious, overwhelmed with changes in their lives, who are struggling in relationships, and those who have experienced trauma. I most often focus on issues related to depression, anxiety, adjustment/life transitions, relationship problems, trauma and abuse, and self-esteem. I aim to address feelings of distress and help individuals come to a deeper understanding of factors that contribute to a sense of well-being. My goal is to help you break out of maladaptive interpersonal patterns and feel less stuck, more fully your self, and more joyful in your relationships. I specialize in addressing interpersonal trauma, guiding people in integrating, healing, and moving forward from painful experiences. To achieve these goals, I utilize a variety of techniques, including psychodynamic/relational techniques, attachment focused therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness. Contact me via email or phone, and schedule a free 30 minute phone consultation to see if I am a good fit to help you live a fuller and happier life.
