Introduction

I use a flexible approach to therapy based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that has been scientifically tested and found to be effective in clinical trials for anxiety, depression, and trauma. CBT is focused on identifying distorted thinking, modifying beliefs, relating to others in different ways, and changing behaviors. This is done through exercises in session as well as short weekly reading and writing tasks at home. Benefits can include a better understanding of your personal needs and values, awareness of your patterns of thoughts and beliefs, and developing healthier relationships. There are no guarantees about what outcome therapy will have for you. Some people find that counseling results in changes they were not expecting or intending at the onset. While it may be necessary to process painful subjects, the role of the therapist is to be nonjudgmental and understanding and assist the client through this process. I am experienced in treating both adults and adolescents in individual therapy. My current office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM. I may be contacted by phone or email to schedule an initial diagnostic assessment or 15 minute phone consultation to discuss treatment options.
