Introduction

Prior to starting Heartspace Counseling, I worked in non-profit community mental health, working extensively with individuals impacted by HIV, LGBTQ+ and immigrant populations assisting by providing counseling and case management services. I also have experience working at an inpatient behavioral health setting, supporting clients with substance use disorders seeking detox services and adults in an acute mental health crisis needing support and stabilization services. I bring my lived experience into the clinical space along with kindness, encouragement and active listening. I provide a collaborative approach to therapy in a non-judgmental and safe space.
