Introduction

Psychotherapy is a tool that empowers you to peel back the layers of hurt, fears, outside expectations and to finally discover who you really are. These emotional and cognitive barriers can stop you from becoming your true self. Your goal, as you travel down your path of self-discovery, is to give yourself permission to explore and overcome these roadblocks and become your whole self. Personally and professionally, I have dealt with anxiety, chronic depression, interpersonal issues, narcissistic abuse, coming out, sexual identity exploration, life transitions, relationship issues, individuation, spirituality, grief, and aging. Thus, I have a deep understanding of these issues and how to use different therapy modalities to work through them. If I was able to do it, I believe others also have the ability to do it. Yes, it takes a lot of work, but you are worth it. For me, therapy is about having a truer and integrated self. My role as your therapist will be to guide you on your path of self-discovery and growth processes. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. I hold masters’ degrees in Social Work (University of Houston) and Divinity (Notre Dame Graduate School of Theology). My varied life experiences and education provide me with unique skills for providing therapy. A Texan by birth, I grew up in Brazil and Chile. I went to college in New Orleans and lived there for many years until I moved back to Houston. Thus, I speak Portuguese and Spanish. The best thing I have recently done was to adopt a rescue dog this past February. Colin DaDog had been severely abused, so he needs a lot of love. I am more than happy to give him all the love and attention he needs. You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. (Kabat-Zinn 2004) SALUTARISPSYCHOTHERAY.COM
