Introduction

One of the hardest things any of us can do is to ask for help. We can be desperate for something to change but to take that next step can feel so far away. It can feel like an admission of failure or an acknowledgement of weakness. It can put front and center the very pain you are trying not to feel. If this makes sense to you, please know that you are not alone and what you are experiencing is real. What if relief is truly available to everyone? Your pain, your suffering is not an indictment of weakness. All it means is that you are human. Finding the right therapist can take time and it is important to be discerning with your choice. After all this is your life, your recovery. Here are a few indicators that might mean we could be a good fit for the work: • You are feeling stuck, and you are still dealing with persistent symptoms and unhelpful behavior patterns. • You have been thinking now’s the time to finally address old stuff that you have been holding on to. • You often refer to yourself as an “anxious person” and really would like to feel differently. • You are trying to get a sense of who you are. • You know what you are doing in life is not what you want but you do not know what to do about it or where to put your energy. • You would simply like to feel better about yourself in general. I believe that every part (or aspect) of ourselves is important and there is an underlying positive intention for our well-being. In our work together, we work towards being with, validating and eventually healing those wounds. Through healing comes fundamental change. It is important to recognize the whole individual mind, body, environment, and spirit. Each person comes to therapy with a unique story so the approach will be specific to you. I have an eclectic style with a primary focus utilizing IFS and somatic oriented approaches. You are not alone in your struggle and if we start working together, you will not be alone in your recovery. When you are ready, we will begin with a brief conversation and take it from there.
