My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Studies and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a Clinical Certified Trauma Specialist and a LGBTQIA informed practitioner. I continue to receive ongoing training on subjects such as trauma-informed care and counseling interventions with methods including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), Person-centered therapy, Play Therapy and often include an eclectic approach in my intervention including art, movement, bibliotherapy, and experiential activities in addition to talk therapy. Majority of my professional experience is with individuals navigating anxiety and depression and supporting survivors navigate their responses to traumatic experiences. My experience as a clinician and life-long learner has impacted my therapeutic style. What I enjoy most about my work is having the opportunity to empower each client to reach their goals, improve their overall mental wellness, and learn the skills to maintain a higher quality of life.
