Introduction

Dr. Omekio Riggins AKA “Dr. O” is known in the community as “The Destiny Connector.” Upon approach she will quickly inquire about your purpose and support you to eliminate any barriers you may encounter or perceive. Dr. O is the owner of Metamorphosis Unlimited PLLC, a mental health and substance abuse agency that currently services both North Carolina and Virginia. She is a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed clinical addiction specialist, and a licensed practical nurse. Her focus has been on mental health and the African American church. She has a nonprofit organization MetamorphYou which works to eliminate barriers to mental health through empowerment, music, and therapy. Dr. O is the author of “Omekio’s Purse” which is a short story about her experience with domestic violence. She has an ongoing project that provides purses and supplies to women and girls. She is also the author of “Wounded Healers” and a coauthor of “Bounce Back Girl” and “Lessons My Sisters Taught Me.” She was featured in the 2022 edition of Power Magazine. Dr. O has mentored many mental health providers. She enjoys speaking and promoting mental health treatment..
