Introduction

I have a passion for supporting people while they navigate challenges in their everyday lives, regardless of whether it is a situational concern or a historical diagnosis. I understand the intersectionality of issues that will impact someone's mental health, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class, among other things. I approach counseling from an open perspective, wanting to understand each client's individual experience and identity, to best help them on their mental health journey. I have 5 years of experience working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and mental health concerns, as most of my time in the field has been in community mental health. In addition to psychology and counseling, I also have a bachelor's degree in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies and have a passion for working with couples and sex therapy. I employ a humanistic approach while focusing on client-centered therapy, to help clients identify their strengths and full potential. I believe it is important to view mental health from a holistic perspective, exploring how the mind, body, and a person's lived experience impact their mental health. I aim to create a supportive, relaxed, and open environment for free expression to allow clients to fully process their challenges and emotions. My primary modality is CBT from an interpersonal perspective. My style focuses on how behaviors, thoughts, and feelings impact a person’s body, relationship with others, and mental health in its entirety.
