Introduction

Octavia has been a resident of Baltimore for over 24 years and recently obtained her master’s degree in clinical professional counseling. She identifies as a black, queer/bisexual woman who enjoys experiencing new adventures through hobbies such as international travel and immersion in nature. She takes pride in her familial and social relationships with her community of people and the development of those relationships over her life. Octavia works with young adults (16+) and adults who may be experiencing difficulty managing stress brought on by symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationships with others/ourselves, trauma and/or recent life changes. She uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as her primary modality of treatment with clients, but she also integrates Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques into her work with clients as deemed appropriate for individualized care. Octavia works with clients who are motivated in the therapeutic process of developing a deeper understanding of their experiences and being guided through the exploration of their own personal values. Therapy with Octavia might be a good fit if you are searching for a judgement-free space where you can be heard, supported, gently challenged, and guided towards uncovering new perspectives. Octavia’s goal with clients is to work collaboratively so that you can work towards a place where you are thriving—and not just surviving.
