I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia registered through the Virginia Board of Counseling. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College. I’m a lifelong learner and am very passionate about my own growth and learning as a therapist and healer. I will continue to grow in learning new techniques that are aligned with me and my values to help my clients. The Soul Centered Method is both Holistic and Person Centered. I utilize a number of approaches when appropriate for a client’s needs including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Somatic Embodiment Techniques Transpersonal and Jungian Techniques Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Emotionally Focused Therapy Humanistic techniques I am trained in Gottman Method, Level 1 and 2, a type of Couples Counseling through the Gottman Institute. I also utilize Holistic Psychotherapy and Transpersonal therapy techniques when appropriate such as mindfulness, meditations, guided imagery, sound healing, creative arts and breathing techniques as a Somatic Embodiment certified therapist. I am adept and equipped to explore trauma, and inner child work with my clients. I am a trauma informed, LGBTQ+ and gender affirming practitioner. I identify as a Cisgender Biracial Woman, BIPOC practitioner & Demisexual. I support body, sex and kink positivity. I do not practice religious based counseling, however I do respect all religions and spiritual beliefs in my work with my clients because it can be powerful to utilize spirituality practices in finding meaning, purpose, connection and healing. I do utilize and support spiritual practices including reiki, crystals, tarot and other practices in exploring meaning with client when they desire to do so. I am a strong believer and advocate for all human rights, women’s rights, liberation and justice. My office is a safe space for all. I honor your life and needs. I believe that you are the expert in your own experience and I’m here to validate and empower you. I honor and give reverence to Mother Earth and the Monacan Land I practice on. About me & Fun Facts: -I am a biracial cisgender woman who identifies as she/her. -I’m a dog mom of a toy poodle named Obi! -I have a passion for astrology, holistic practices like yoga and meditation. -Reiki- Level I certified completed through Reiki Colorado Academy. -I am a huge fan of traveling and finding new breathtaking views, community and new experiences. -Being near/ in water or in nature are some of my favorite ways I will practice grounding. 0265 hour Hatha yoga instructor training completed through Yoga Home, a studio in Colorado.
