Dr. Rubin and her trainees specialize in helping adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety disorders (including OCD), depression, shame or guilt, negative self-judgments, perfectionism, grief, a sense of feeling overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected from themselves or others. Our aim is to help you increase psychological flexibility through mindfulness and evidence-based practices in the service of creating more space in your life to identify, connect to, and act in alignment with your own values. We want to help you build the life that you want even in the presence of struggle. We offer both individual and group therapy. Dr. Rubin and her trainees specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness-based 3rd wave cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT). These treatments have been consistently demonstrated to be very effective for a wide range of difficulties. They are also time sensitive, meaning we do not want you to be in therapy forever! We believe in creating an open, safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate therapeutic environment that is informed by structure to help you make the changes necessary to build the life you want. We also believe in an equally kind and direct stylistic approach, coupled with a strong emphasis on collaboration. Evidence-based care is central to our work. Dr. Rubin also currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA where she supervises Ph.D. students in ACT. She previously served as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor at Columbia University where she trained Ph.D. students in 3rd wave CBT.
