Hi, I'm Nikki and I'm so glad that you're here. It takes courage to start the journey of healing, finding clarity, and embracing peace. Sometimes life throws obstacles in your path, or maybe you've been struggling for a while; whatever the root of your challenges may be, my goal is to help you find your way. I specialize in grief work, which may stem from the death of a loved one, relationship changes or relational trauma, health changes, job changes, or a variety of other life events. I believe there is wisdom in your story and therefore base my work on a client-centered, strengths-based approach. As a trained therapist, I strive to create a safe environment with open communication, while welcoming your perspectives. I am here to guide you, to help you reflect, and perhaps challenge you a bit. I invite you to show up just as you are, whether that is sad, glad, angry, anxious, or just messy. The only expectation is that you are honest with yourself and ready to dig in. I, too, have experienced life's ups and downs, and I know firsthand how important a supportive and empathetic therapeutic relationship can be. Together we can explore hopes, fears, and goals in order for you to live a life that you envision; not just a life that you survive, but one in which you thrive, no matter where you are in life's journey. I have earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work, both from Colorado State University. In addition to private practice, I am passionate about the human-animal bond and its therapeutic benefits, and hold a Graduate Certificate in Social Aspects of Human-Animal Interaction. Clients must reside in the state of Colorado.
