"I don't heal you; I help you heal yourself" is Nicole's motto for therapy. Through a personalized and integrative approach, Nicole combines traditional mainstream therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Jungian Therapy with more alternative and holistic approaches such as Somatic Therapy and Narrative Therapy to empower you to navigate challenges with compassion, authenticity, and kindness. Nicole is a yoga teacher and often draws on the mind-body connection component of yoga in sessions to aid in processing, symptom management, and relapse prevention. Working with her, you can expect a calm and safe space where you're challenged to grow and fiercely supported along the way. Nicole specializes in self-esteem enhancement, shadow work (integrating parts of the self that one feels shameful about, rejects, or may not be aware of in order to more fully accept, like, and love oneself), ADHD, anxiety, and relationships. She is highly experienced in burnout resolution, parenting and co-parenting, complex trauma, codependency, multicultural issues, somatic processing, and substance use and addiction recovery. She finds that a variety of these issues tend to occur at the same time for most people who experience them. She works with adults, adolescents, and families and relationships of all configurations. Nicole received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and an internationally certified Registered Yoga Teacher. She is level 2 trained in The Gottman Method for marriage and relationship counseling. Nicole became a therapist after working in university admissions, where she realized she was best able to help her students by talking with them about their personal lives and that they continued to visit her office after enrollment to talk and to give her life updates. Nicole is a mom and holds family and friendship as core values. She enjoys writing and art and aims to never lose the part of her that loves punk rock music and poetry and art about resistance, empowerment, and community. Nicole embraces both sunshine and rain (literally and metaphorically) and brings a unique blend of optimism and a touch of Eeyore's realism to therapy sessions. She'll tell you directly how she sees things and will do so from a place of respect with kindness and support. With a desire for everyone to experience love and kindness, she aims to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering space for clients to explore their challenges, seek personal growth, and cultivate healthier relationships. Nicole sees clients online and in-person and offers free 15 minute phone or telehealth consultations to discuss whether working together for therapy is a good fit. Clients can see Nicole for sessions online from anywhere in Florida and in-person in the Jupiter area.
