I’m Dr. Skefos. I’m a Harvard-trained, Board-Certified Psychiatrist, treating children, adolescents, and adults both in-person and virtually across the state of Texas. I completed my undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX; medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School-Boston Children’s Hospital where I was the Chief Fellow for Inpatient Psychiatric Services. For the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of being the Director of Student Counseling and Psychiatric Services at UTHealth Houston, where I hold the rank of Assistant Professor. In this role, I’m the psychiatrist for medical students, dental students, nursing students, and other graduate students in the various schools of health. While I very much love this position, I wanted to expand my services outside of the University. So in March 2025, I founded and launched the Center for Healthy Minds, a small outpatient psychiatry private practice in Houston, TX. I have a great deal of experience treating individuals of all ages with all mental health conditions—including complex ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, autism, bipolar disorder, psychosis—but I particularly enjoy helping students and young adults in high-stress, high-pressure environments overcome their challenges. Many of my patients are middle and high school students, college and graduate students, healthcare professionals, executives, and athletes. I’d love to speak with you today.
