Introduction

A look back on the history of humanity reveals that relational brokenness is often central to the human experience. The good news is that there is also a history of restoration and healing when we engage in the hard work of introspection and face conflict head-on. Nicholas Clay is an ordained pastor and counseling intern who believes that everyone experiences brokenness and yearns for peace. With a background in church ministry and education, he is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find healing from their brokenness and realize their intrinsic strength. Nick’s ultimate goal is to see marriages and families find renewed hope. Through his use of evidence-based clinical interventions, you will develop transformed ways of thinking and begin to flourish mentally, emotionally, relationally, physically, and spiritually. Nick primarily uses Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy with his clients and is currently finishing his master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University’s College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. Nick is professionally associated with national counseling organizations including the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC). He is also ordained through Vanguard Ministries, a network of like-minded pastors, ministry leaders, and churches committed to building and strengthening healthy, life-giving local churches and ministry organizations. In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, kayaking, playing golf, and reading the latest mystery thriller.
