Introduction

Dr. Frazier is a professional counselor, licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama, where she obtained graduate level certification in Psychometry. Dr. Frazier is the sole owner of Comprehensive Counseling, LLC, founded in 2007. She divides her time between her private practice, training and consulting. In her clinical practice, she delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adults, adolescents and children. Outside of her private practice, Natalie spent some time in higher education, acting as associate professor to graduate students. She served as an executive board member and past president of the Madison County Mental Health Association. In 2010, she was appointed to the Editorial Board of Annals, a professional journal published by the American Psychotherapy Association. Concurrently, she also served as an Executive Board Member for the organization. Over the years, she has conducted community and continuing education seminars for various organizations in the state. Dr. Frazier's primary theoretical approach is the cognitive behavioral approach. Using this approach, Dr. Frazier facilitates an environment conducive to helping clients recognize and scrutinize faulty beliefs, stressful emotions, and unproductive behaviors. Once problem areas are identified, clients learn to choose more realistic beliefs, and as a result, begin to feel better and behave in a more effective manner. When a client fails to make appropriate progress, another approach or technique may be use to help the client reach his or her goals. Employing a positive and proactive approach, Dr. Frazier works with clients to identify the dynamics that cause problems and institute desired changes. Psychotherapy sessions are designed to have a tangible focus, wherein Assessment is inked to the development of measurable goals, and subsequently, a defined set of actions. Dr. Frazier strives to be a compassionate listener who understands the challenges of balancing work, life and family. She is eager to apply her experience with clients as they begin to address issues that will help them to improve their quality of life and attain a sense of fulfillment. Dr. Frazier has a special interest in supporting the social and emotional needs of individuals who are gifted and talented, as well as individuals who have depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, and learning disorders. While working in managed care, schools and private settings Dr. Frazier strives to provide appropriate and effective therapeutic, assessment and educational services that appropriately address each client’s needs. At her private office, Dr. Frazier has sessions available for children, adolescents and adults. These sessions are available as individual, couple, family, or group setting. Services are designed to link assessment to interventions that can be measured. Psychoeducational evaluations that help identify learning disorders, ADHD and other disorders are other services provided. Dr. Frazier and her husband Henry have been married for 38 years. They have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. In their free time, she and Henry like to spend time outdoors and travel with their family. Dr. Frazier loves reading, sewing and spending time with her two dogs, Bella and Brutus. One of her greatest joys is being a Ya-Ya to her grandchildren.
