Introduction

Welcome! Im a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and have been working as a therapist since 2018. I work with individuals who struggle with relationship issues, heightened emotional responses and trauma. You may identify as an Adult child of an Emotionally Immature/ Narcissistic parent or feel as though you grew up in a dysfunctional family. You may also find it difficult to set boundaries, feel anxious/overwhelmed within your relationships and struggle with guilt, shame, people pleasing and chronic invalidation. If this sounds like you, I'd love to help. I utilize modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Somatic Therapy to help clients find stability in their emotions, increase confidence in their ability to express themselves effectively, recover from past trauma/ abuse, and regain control of their reality. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment that enables clients to heal from the effects of trauma. The therapist will guide the client through a protocol which allows the client to process distressing events/ memories, resulting in decreased emotional distress. EMDR is an eight phase treatment that clients move through at their own pace, with guidance/direction from the therapist. DBT is a treatment that allows clients to gain skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance. DBT works within the dialectic of acceptance vs change. This allows the client to explore which factors in their life may improve through acceptance of reality as is and validation, and which would improve through change strategies such as problem solving, addressing emotional reactions, or addressing distorted thoughts. Somatic therapy is a body based therapy that addresses the mind-body connection and believes that thoughts, emotions and sensations all influence each other. This approach helps to release stress and tension in the body through exercises such as breath work, visualization practices, meditation, body awareness, and grounding techniques. If you have any questions about my services, or if you're ready to begin working together, reach out for a free 15-minute video consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
