I am currently accepting new clients. I facilitate individual, couple, family and group counseling. Whether it is recovery from substances, another addiction, trauma, or mental illness, it is worth it. No matter what you have been through, the good new is that healing happens in the present, so it's never too late. IF you can relate to any of the following, we're probably a good match: -YOU STRUGGLE with heightened anxiety, emotional overload, compassion fatigue and/or burnout -YOU HAVE been to higher levels of care for support, such as Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), or Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) -LOVED ONES say statements like "you're too much" or "you're so dramatic" -YOU WANT to moderate or eliminate some of your problem behaviors -YOU FIND yourself getting triggered very easily -ONCE TRIGGERED, you are dysregulated for a disproportionate amount of time -YOU KEEP doing the same things that hurt you and cannot figure out why or how to stop -YOU HAVE a history of failed or toxic relationships and can't seem to figure out why you keep going back to these -YOU people please, a lot, it's been detrimental in some aspects -YOU DON'T think very much of yourself -YOU STRUGGLE with being alone -YOU HAVE a family member that is struggling with their mental health and would like to know how to better assist, support and understand them These are just a few and we can recover from ALL of these things! If you value living a life you are proud of, then reach out and let's discuss how I can help. I offer a free 15 minute phone call. Call, text or email to schedule this consult. There is more than one way to heal and recover and what works for one person might not work for another. Collaboratively looking at goals, objectives and interventions is essential in providing individualized care to each and every person I treat. It is your therapy and you get a say in the pace and the approach we take in therapy. I will help to lay out our options. I am a strong advocate for family education and involvement. While someone is healing, their close family and friends would benefit from their own healing. Stress and trauma often "spills over" to those around us when we are struggling. Addressing this can be very helpful in the recovery process for everyone involved. WHAT OUR FIRST SESSION MIGHT LOOK LIKE: We will have already spoken over the phone and scheduled a time to meet. You will have received information for the patient portal and will fill out some paperwork before our meeting. Upon scheduling, you will also receive a link to the HIPAA compliant video platform that I currently use. Just click the link and we are connected. Easy-Peasy! We will have a quick introduction, address any concerns or anxieties about meeting and maybe take a brief minute to talk about your relationship with therapy - have you engaged in therapy before? when? and was it successful? After this, we will jump into symptoms that you are having and how you are functioning. I am pretty laid back and you'll get a sense of me within the first 5 minutes or so, just as I am getting a sense of who you are. You will not be expected to share anything in this session that you are not ready to. Just let me know you'd like to pass on that question and we will jump right over it. Again, pacing is a collaborate effort and important for emotional safety. By the end of the first session, you will be leaving with an understanding, maybe better than what you came in with, about what is really going on and the plan of action that we are building together. After the first session, I might be sending you some material that closely relates to what we discussed in the first session. I often send educational material to clients throughout our work together. A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I received my Bachelor's degree at Northern University in Psychology. I then received my Master's degree in Clinical Counseling in 2009. I have been practicing since then and have even moved up the ladder in supervisory roles over the years. In the end, I prefer to work directly with clients as this is what I most enjoy and think I'm best at. I have experience in treating all kinds of things, I specialize in treating addictions of all kinds, trauma, eating disorders, self harm behaviors, depression, anxiety, chronic suicidality, borderline personality disorder and codependency. This is really what I love to do and I think I'm good at it ;) When I am not working, I am thoroughly invested in relaxation as often as I can. I enjoy spending time with my family and my 2 cats. I love to be outside in a yard, enjoying the sun and good company. PAYMENTS: I am currently an out of network provider. This means that I do not take insurance, I do not submit to insurance or communicate with them. I am happy to provide a Superbill if you choose to seek reimbursement for sessions on your own. I can also walk you through what to ask your insurance company about out of network benefits. Reach out by calling, texting or emailing if you'd like to chat for a few minutes about how I might be able to assist you in your goals. https://www.psychologytoday.com/profile/1278735
