Going to therapy is a very courageous and vulnerable choice. I strive to create a supportive space where you can feel safe to show up authentically, ask difficult questions, and do hard things in order to ultimately heal and grow. I am passionate about relationships and the impact they have on your life, health, and happiness. Most of the work I do centers around relationship issues, trauma, and overall well-being. Wherever problems are showing up, I can empower you with tools that help you foster strong and trusting relationships - not only with others, but also with yourself. COUPLES Specializing in couple’s therapy, I find myself often working with high conflict couples, codependency, and those struggling with trust issues or disconnection. I provide a compassionate yet direct approach - challenging you to take necessary steps to grow with your partner. I utilize attachment theory, choice theory, and systems theories (EFT, IFS, SFBT) to address your concerns and to provide a framework in which more empathy, understanding, connection, and desire can be created. FAMILIES I also enjoy working with families! Especially those with young children, and I can help you incorporate new tools, ideas, or meaning into your family system. Along with clinical counseling experience, my undergraduate and graduate degrees have provided me extensive knowledge in child development, and I have experience working with families as a nanny for 4 years and with kids in various roles for 10+ years. MINDFULNESS Mindfulness or awareness of one's internal state and the ability to regulate that is at the base of everything I do. Having a background in physical health, I find the interaction between the mind and body (and spirit) to be ever-present and impactful. So, I like to incorporate somatic exercises into therapy, and I offer walk-and-talks! (A more active outdoor approach) ***GROUP OFFERINGS*** The fall 2024 Nature Therapy Group has come to an end. Check back in the future for information about spring 2025! ABOUT ME GETTING PERSONAL I am a native Texan, a nature lover, a cat mom, and "the cool Aunt" to my two awesome nieces. Outside of work, you can find me getting active (yoga, climbing, hiking), trying new restaurants and recipes, or enjoying live music. As someone who has experienced chronic pain for 7+ years, utilizing movement, nature, and mindfulness has been paramount in my life, and it is a true joy to share what I have learned with others. We are all on our own journey, and I am grateful to find our paths crossing in this moment. EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling with a focus in marriage, family, and couple counseling from St. Edward's University in 2022, and in 2018 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Conditioning with minors in coaching and psychology from Texas A&M University.
