Introduction

Mother Drum Wellness Center (Mowell Center) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Community-Oriented Behavioral Healthcare that provides prevention, intervention, treatment, recovery support, and other therapeutic services to individuals who are at risk of/or challenged by Substance Use Disorders and/or Co-occurring Mental Health conditions in an outpatient/telehealth setting. Our Vision To improve the overall quality of life of individuals at risk of or challenged by substance abuse/mental health conditions. Mission Statement It is our mission to be the intersection of mental health, maternal health and substance use disorder by addressing the factors that increases the risk of substance abuse and mental health conditions, as well as to promote the factors that minimizes the risk of these conditions through quality, innovative and compassionate care. ADULT OUTPATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAM Our Adult Outpatient Program offers versatile paths to recovery from despair to hope, and this care is delivered in a manner that promotes recovery and resiliency. Services includes Individual, group and family psychotherapy; Psychiatric Evaluations; Medication Management; Substance-Related and Recovery- -Focused Education and more. Care is delivered in both traditional face-to-face forms, as well as via telehealth or a hybrid approach for greater access (especially in situations where services are lacking or inaccessible), to individuals who meets the placement criteria for this component. Our philosophy emphasizes values and choice, and we believe in the value of taking a holistic approach that addresses the mind, spirit and body in conjunction with evidenced based practices such as: cognitive/behavior or solution-focused approaches. Admission Criteria: Persons served in the adult outpatient program must be adult ages 18 and above, with a DSM-5 Mental Disorders, Substance-Induced Mental Disorders, and Co-occurring Substance Use Disorders (SUDs). YOUTH AND FAMILY TREATMENT PROGRAM The Youth and Family Program (YAFIT program) is designed to serve adolescents between the ages 11-17, and their families. This program provides therapeutic array of behavioral health services (such as Assessments, Psychiatric Evaluation, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Psychoeducational services, Case Management, Medication Management, Substance Abuse Counseling and more), to adolescents who are experiencing Co-occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders through a Wraparound Approach. Admission Criteria: Adolescents ages between 13 to 17, with a DSM 1V diagnosis. CHILDREN AND FAMILY TREATMENT PROGRAM Our Children and Family Program is designed to serve children between the ages 3 and 10 and their families. The program provides therapeutic array of behavioral health services to children who are experiencing mental health challenges using evidenced based and holistic approaches. Services are provided in school and community-based settings, with the consent and involvement of the legal guardian of persons served. Our goal is to support children in our communities, so that developing mental health issues can be addressed before they turn into lifetime struggles. Admission Criteria: Children between ages 6 to 12, with a DSM 1V diagnosis.
