At first, counseling can seem frightening. As someone who grew up in a traditional Hispanic household, therapy and mental health weren’t things we talked about. It was my own experience seeking therapy that allowed me to view being vulnerable as the strength that it is. There isn’t anything wrong with wanting a more balanced and peaceful life. My background focuses on Psychology and Mental Health. I received my Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Capella University. For the past five years I have worked as an Article 81 Case Manager, where I have had the privilege of working with a diverse population. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting clients as they navigate personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. This is what has motivated my career change to pursue counseling. My approach to therapy is built upon empathy, honest dialogue, and patience. I believe that a genuine and trusting connection between a client and their therapist can enhance the journey of personal growth and healing. My goal is to help you achieve deeper insight into who you are as an individual while also moving at a pace that is most comfortable for you. I am open to working with adults and adolescents that are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and personality disorders. Outside of my professional life, I am a book lover who enjoys crocheting, watching movies, and spending time with my cat, Lil’ Benny. I aim to be the safe space you have been looking for and encourage you to reach out and schedule a session with me. I look forward to potentially working with you!
