I have a background in fine arts, and I believe expression and play are essential to healing. I uphold a sense of humor is a strong indicator of survival. I have 23 years of experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and families in community mental health, foster care/group home settings, public schools, universities, and private practice. Treating trauma survivors, working with the LBGTQ+ population, and serving marginalized people, and groups of people, has been of particular focus for me throughout my career. Additionally, I enjoy working with clients on achieving their goals and realizing dreams they may have abandoned. I like working with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, transitions, and conditions and situations that, previously (or currently,) seem to be barring clients' paths to becoming all they are meant to be. I am open, honest, nonjudgmental, playful, and dedicated to advocacy of anyone considered by the general public as "lesser than." I am a writer, singer, painter, and I taught Psychology at the University level for close to 10 years before reentering private practice full-time. I enjoy reading, travel, learning new instruments and languages, exercise, meditation, and Legos! I am married to an Educator. I love animals, particularly rescues, and I have an 11 year-old daughter. I detest perfection, and I am not immune to the same life struggles as my clients.
