Introduction

Practicing in Iowa and Illinois, I've been a mental health therapist for over 16 years. Having a first career in education, I use a significant amount psychoeducation to help clients understand why we take the path we do. I care deeply for helping people heal the wounds of the past. I'm very empathetic and work at meeting people where they are. Whether it's short-term, brief therapy or long-term trauma work I use many tools to help clients feel calm and safe and meet their therapeutic needs. I'm a certified EMDR psychotherapist, I have been actively using EMDR since being trained. This evidence-based therapy is one of the best for treating trauma. I see clients for age 7 through adult. On a personal note, I enjoy time in nature with my family, pets, livestock and gardening.
