Molly Martinez, PhD, is the Owner and Director of SOAR, which she founded in 2018. She is a clinical psychologist specializing in OCD and anxiety in the Dallas metropolitan area and is also the founder of the OCD specialists consultation group, DFW OCD Treatment Specialists (DOTS). In 2023, she joined the faculty of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute, providing consultation and training to clinicians developing their expertise in treating OCD. Clinical Approach and Expertise Dr. Martinez has created a culture at SOAR that is grounded in science and committed to evidence-based practice. She and her team focus on empirically-supported treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and skills training informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). They are also familiar with Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) for OCD, although it is not yet offered at SOAR. Dr. Martinez is licensed in Texas and is certified through PSYPACT to provide telehealth services in most states in the US. Dr. Martinez helps children, teens, adults, and families recover from anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders such as body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), tics/Tourette disorder, and health anxiety. She also regularly treats comorbid conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), behavior disorders, and ADHD. Parent education and family involvement are integral to her treatment approach, whether working with children or adults. Education and Training Dr. Martinez earned her PhD in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology from The Ohio State University. She completed her internship at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, affiliated with Northwestern University. Over the years, she has trained with and presented alongside leading experts in the OCD and anxiety field, many of whom she now considers mentors and friends. Professional Leadership A regular speaker at international conferences like the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety Depression Association of America (ADAA), Dr. Martinez presents on a variety of topics including treatment selection for OCD (ERP, ACT & I-CBT), differential diagnosis, parenting children with OCD, telehealth benefits, emerging interventions, clinical ethics, and more. She also travels nationally to train therapists on evidence-based treatment for OCD as part of the faculty for the IOCDF’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute.
