Molly Bright

Mental Health Therapist Bright Counseling, PLLC
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, ADD/ADHD, LGBTQIA+, Mindfulness,

Introduction

I'm a Master's level Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Elementary School Counselor. Prior to becoming a mental health therapist, I worked as a school psychologist and counselor in a large public school system for 20+ years. This work equipped me to support children experiencing a variety of behavioral health and learning challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, learning disabilities and autism. I’m passionate about helping children learn to manage stress, improve relationships, create change, and build resilience. My approach to therapy is relaxed, genuine, and collaborative. I use a variety of individualized, evidence-based strategies to assist children with the healing process and with understanding themselves. As a neurodivergent-informed and affirming therapist, I strive to honor clients' lived experience. Rather than focus on pathology or treatment modalities that emphasize deficits, I utilize a strengths-based approach to encourage client development of a strong sense of self, agency and well-being. For young children and for those who are less responsive to traditional talk therapy, I often use expressive arts and play therapy approaches in my work. My office is a sensory-friendly environment where play, exploration and movement are encouraged. “Play is the most natural method of self-healing that childhood affords.” — Erik H. Erikson
