Introduction

Dr. Mitch earned his BA in Psychology from Temple University in 1989 and a Master of Group Process and Group Psychotherapy from Hahnemann University in 1993. He then earned a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2005 and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. Dr. Mitch has over 30 years of experience providing assessment, diagnosis, supervision, and therapeutic intervention with children, adolescents, families, and adults within the behavioral health and educational systems. He has helped many families navigate through the school system and IDEA/504 regulations. He feels advocacy is an important part of helping children with special needs and their parents. Dr. Mitch has worked with children and families providing assessment and treatment in various settings in the behavioral health field including: counseling and training adolescents for job readiness, level of care assessment for children, adolescents and adults, and child and adolescent residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment. He has also worked in the managed care sector of behavior health with the non-profit company of Philadelphia providing supervision in behavioral health resource services, clinical management of child and adult services, and network training. Over the past 11 years Dr. Mitch has been providing outpatient treatment for children and adolescents. Dr. Mitch certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychological First Aid (PFA), Post Traumatic Stress Management (PTSM), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He is also trained to administer the Autistic Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS-2), Also, training and knowledge with IDEA and 504 Federal regulations and experience with advocating with parents for their children.
