A bit about me: I have been in the counseling realm for over 15 years and I am committed to helping teens and adults overcome negative effects from trauma, grief and loss, depression or anxiety. Although my work focuses on trauma, my experience has taught me that there isn't just one thing. Let's take the journey together to explore what the root cause may be, learn about it & heal in the way you want to. Although Montana is where I originated from, I moved to Alaska in 2009 and am happy to call it my forever home. I enjoy several different hobbies that include reading, being outside, and gardening. However all of these things are enhanced with a good cup of coffee and maybe a piece of chocolate. I received my BA in North Dakota, Masters of Social Work (MSW) at UAA, became a Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) while living in the the Mat-Su Valley and am currently EMDR certified. Little more on the insurance thing: While I'm not in network with insurance, you may have Out Of Network benefits in your insurance plan that could save you a large portion of my session fees. I am happy to take care of the insurance stress for you i.e. verifying your benefits and submitting claims for you via Thrizer. You can also just pay a copay for sessions after you meet your deductible.
