Miranda Yokum, LCSW, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from James Madison University in 2020 and completed her Masters of Social Work at Catholic University of America in 2022. She enjoys working from a person-centered and strengths-based approach while collaborating with clients to identify the best-fitting and most effective treatment methods. Miranda is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and has received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), tailoring these evidence-based approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, as she is deeply committed to helping clients navigate their lowest moments, life transitions, and uncertainties while supporting them on their journey toward healing and growth. Miranda specializes in assisting clients in processing their life experiences while understanding overwhelming and significant emotions. She is committed to continuing her education and training in various evidenced-based practices to best treat each individual. Miranda has extensive experience working with clients who face significant mental health challenges, including major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychotic and mood disorders, and eating disorders. She has previously worked at higher levels of care, including inpatient and residential treatment centers. She is passionate about and committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their own strengths and achieve lasting change.
