MiKayla is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and is recognized for her work with the youth population as well as diverse backgrounds. She received her Bachelor of Science in Youth and Family Ministry. In 2018, MiKayla received her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Cairn University. Since then MiKayla has extensive experience working with youth in school-based counseling programs which included children and adolescents. MiKayla has training and experience working with adults as well, who are seeking help with managing depression and anxiety. Other areas of experience include self esteem, relationship issues, family conflict, life transitions, self harm/self injury, suicidal ideation, and grief. MiKayla utilizes a collaborative approach to addressing treatment issues and concerns, which include but are not limited to psychodynamic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. MiKayla can also provide Christian counseling services if patients are interested. Her goal is to uncover the root of the problem in a safe and accepting environment where patients can feel heard and truly seen. She will then help her patients develop an understanding of how to address these concerns through self-understanding, behavior modification, and self-acceptance.
