Estudié Biología y recibí una maestría de Salud Mental en la Universidad de Nebraska Omaha. Tambien soy profesor de la Universidad donde estudie. Tengo varios años trabajando en organizaciones ayudando gente de bajos recursos y en clínicas de alcohol y drogas. Tengo muchos años trabajando con jóvenes y adultos. Tengo experiencia trabajando con todo tipo de traumas y con problemas de alcohol y drogas. Y también ayudo a gente con pensamientos suicidas, depresión y ansiedad. I am a bilingual Spanish speaking Licensed Independent Mental Health Therapist (LIMHP) in Nebraska, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology; and the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I now have the honor to be an adjunct professor at the program I received my masters degree. I have the honor to be one the few Latinos to teach in the counseling department at UNO. In Nebraska i've had the privilege to work for non-profit organizations in Omaha and in a dual diagnosis clinic in Grand Island. I’ve also had the opportunity to be a board member of various nonprofit organizations in Nebraska advocating for the Latine community and for equitable mental health. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I have extensive experience working with trauma and intergenerational trauma. I also have experience working with substance use and co-occurring diagnosis. I believe my background as a first generation U.S. born and growing up with parents from Guatemala and El Salvador helps me understand the Latine and the BIPOC community in a unique way.
