I am a New York Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and I obtained by Master's Degree from Hofstra University. I am a professional member of The American Association of Marriage and Family and The New York Association of Marriage and Family. I am bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English and I have trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Levels 1 and 2 of The Gottman Method. We are complex beings and highly influenced by everything around us. Factors such as religion/spirituality, biology, culture, education, socio-economic status etc. have an impact on our interpersonal relationships and intrapersonal communication. Thus knowledge and understanding on how these influences manifest is fundamental in the process of self-awareness and the fomentation of change. I believe that humans thrive and do better when they find themselves in environments that promote safety, respect, and empathy. Thus in my practice, meeting these essential needs is a primary goal. I aspire to help individuals and couples gain a deeper understanding of themselves and to create a hopeful and realistic narrative of their relationships and the world. I empower clients to challenge flawed perceptions feeding into unhealthy behaviors that hinder their capacity to live up to their definition of a fulfilling life. I find joy in the success of my clients and I want to share my expertise with as many people as possible.
