From experience I know life can be difficult. Because of past challenges I have a passion for helping others through the storms of life. No one should have to face these times alone. There is nothing to be ashamed of and I don't believe there is anyone who cannot benefit from therapy, including myself. Reaching out can be uncomfortable, but I will offer you a safe and nonjudgmental space to heal and discover the strengths you already have in you. Using a collaborative approach I can help you reach your goals. I use evidence-based therapeutic techniques as well as knowledge of neurobiology in my practice. I have over seven years of experience with survivors of sexual assault and family violence as well as thirty-eight years as a registered nurse in large and small hospitals. In 1987 I graduated from Mount Marty University with a BS in Nursing and in 2017 I graduated from Sioux Falls Seminary with a MA in Counseling. I am trained in EMDR and certified in trauma and complex trauma. I am also a certified community, police, fire and first responder chaplain. In my free time I enjoy gardening, crafting, painting, reading and spending time with family. I have a husband, three adult children and one grandchild.
