I received a Master's Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy, from Naropa University in 2013. I worked in a wilderness-based residential program with teens and young adults in Colorado, before moving back to California where I worked at an eating disorder PHP/IOP program with folks ages 14 and up. In 2021 I started a private practice in the Santa Cruz mountains with the vision of incorporating my many different focuses: eating disorder recovery, queer & gender-affirming support, trauma-informed care, and wilderness therapy. I offer nature based therapy and self-generated ceremony that can support you in marking transitions and transformations in your life. I am trained in both Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). Through these two modalities, we explore how your inner world has been shaped by your life experiences, learning about your nervous system and the parts of you that may have become stuck, overwhelmed or hopeless. I am calm and grounded, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for uncovering together the changes you want to make in your life. I am a queer cisgender woman that continuously educates myself and pursues training in order to provide gender affirming therapy to the trans, nonbinary and queer communities. I am actively involved in gender-affirming care consultation groups in the Bay Area and I follow the WPATH Standards of Care. I view eating disorders as a set of coping skills that help an individual respond to environmental stressors and/or genetic factors, not a shameful problem to be rid of. I support you bringing awareness to the underlying needs and protection strategies of the behaviors, and help you find new coping skills and choices that bring freedom and trust in the body. Being recovered from an eating disorder myself, I know the human potential for creating the change we deserve and need to grow. I look forward to collaborating with you.
