Helping young children (ages 0-12) and their families who are struggling with big emotions or challenging behaviors are the focus of my practice. Children deserve a therapist who knows how to address challenges on their level, in their language, through play and other engaging activities. Instead of sitting and saying like adults or teens, children engage through showing and doing. As a licensed Family Therapist, I value, include, and support parents and other family members in all my work with children, offering parenting and family sessions to increase and maintain progress toward achieving goals. I am an experienced play therapist and family therapist teaching and supervising graduate students and early career professionals. I maintain credentials as a Registered Play Therapist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, hold certifications in multiple areas, and exceed requirements for continuing education in my field. I especially enjoy working with preschoolers who are struggling. Through innovative brain-informed therapy, I help children, parents, families, and couples discover strengths, uncover new options, and develop new tools in relationships that have become more challenging than joyful.
