It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. My counseling style is supportive and understanding. Life can be exceedingly challenging to navigate at times, especially when we are going through major life transitions. These things can significantly impact our wellbeing, especially if we do not have the proper tools to work through them. I believe in treating everyone with respect, patience, and compassion. My approach begins with building a trusting and therapeutic relationship in the safety of the counseling session and it combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I can help guide your mental health journey and together we can learn how to manage the challenges life throws at you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation counseling with a concentration in addiction studies and a minor in psychology. In 2015, obtained my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. In addition, I have a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I also have a Chemical Dependency License (LCDC) in Texas. I have over 7 years of experience in various settings and I have worked with clients of all ages. I have several certification specialties. I have worked with individuals, couples and families seeking counseling in both online and in my private practice. I have worked in the higher education setting for years as a career counselor and job placement specialist and an advisor. I also have experience in inpatient and outpatient settings with ages 5 to 85. I enjoy working with individuals who are struggling with various life issues. I hope to assist my clients in building a life worth living that is unique to them and their preferences. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My therapeutic style involves helping you to arrive at insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive change in your life. We don’t just sit and talk. I love to provide you with concrete tools wherever possible and help you to have a plan for the following days before our next session, if that is the pace you would like to move at. Most importantly, we are going to make sure we are making progress on goals that you have for yourself. I will be there to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way. I look forward to working with you!
