Dr. Melissa Rothschild is the founder and owner of Four Rivers Therapy and Psychological Services, LLC. Dr. Rothschild is a Missouri and New Jersey licensed psychologist specializing in assessment and therapy for children and adolescents. Dr. Rothschild graduated summa cum laude from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She continued her training at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she received her masters and doctorate in School Psychology and completed a concentration in Psychological/Systems Support for Learning. Dr. Rothschild is also a Missouri and New Jersey certified School Psychologist and has worked for over a decade in public schools as a school psychologist. Dr. Rothschild has extensive experience with conducting developmental and psychological evaluations to assess the psychological and learning needs of students, developing IEPs and behavior intervention plans, and assisting families and students as they navigate the special education process. Dr. Rothschild is a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), with specialized training in trauma-informed care. She is also a certified autism spectrum disorder clinical specialist (ASDCS), with specialized training in the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Rothschild utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), social-skills training, mindfulness training, emotional freedom technique (EFT) or tapping, brain-based strategies, attachment based parent training and family therapy, and play-based techniques in the treatment of various problems including challenging behaviors, anxiety, depression, selective mutism, ADHD, social skills deficits, and trauma.
