Melissa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida and received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University. Melissa is also a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in Florida. Melissa has over 10 years of experience from working in a residential treatment center, outpatient psychiatric hospital, and private practice setting. She has worked with patients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and suicidal ideation. Melissa is trained in different modalities and uses a non-judgmental, person-centered theoretical orientation to help the patient or family achieve their therapeutic goals. Melissa uses creative interventions such as expressive arts and play therapy, which helps to engage and encourage growth within her younger patients. When Melissa is not working she enjoys traveling, exploring museums, and taking her three sons to Walt Disney World.
