Melissa Freymann holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University, where she specialized in integrating Catholic faith with psychological sciences. She employs the Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person and Theology of the Body as foundational frameworks for understanding and valuing the whole person. Dedicated to fostering healing and personal growth, Mrs. Freymann specializes in working with adolescents through older adults, as well as couples and families. She has experience in both individual and group therapy and serves as a consultant for marriage retreats incorporating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) at Our Lady of Bethesda Retreat Center. Mrs. Freymann is actively engaged in the professional counseling community as the Region IV representative for the Catholic Psychotherapy Association and is a member of both the American Counseling Association and ICEEFT. She also serves as a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor (Military, Higher Education, Youth, and Adult programs). She has successfully completed an EFT Externship (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy – ICEEFT) and is certified through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology at Level 3. Mrs. Freymann is supervised by Jessie Tappel, LCPC. In addition to her clinical work, she has been involved in various ministries focusing on youth, leadership, women's empowerment, coaching, and mental wellness initiatives within the Baltimore Archdiocese. She has also been a featured guest on the podcast Speakin’ with the Deacons and is available for speaking engagements at retreats, conferences, parent groups, and youth events. She offers consultation services and therapeutic support at special events. Mrs. Freymann offers appointments at St. John the Evangelist, virtually, and in nursing homes in the Severna Park area, with expertise in working with: * Adolescents & elderly populations * Life transitions * Couples & parenting * Anxiety & grief * Emotional well-being & communication She provides both short-term counseling for immediate concerns such as stress management and lifestyle challenges, as well as in-depth therapy for processing trauma and complex emotional issues. Limited group therapy sessions are also available. Mrs. Freymann does not accept insurance but can provide a Superbill for you to submit. She has partnered with Mentaya, which will submit your claims for you. Check with your insurance to see if they accept out-of-network providers.
