Hello! I'm a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, (LMFT), with nearly 30 years of experience working with individuals and couples on issues related to mood, communication, conflict, and coping with major life changes. I use cognitive-behavioral and systemic approaches which help my clients spot patterns in their behavior, thinking, and relationships that aren't working well for them and then work to help them create new, more effective patterns and coping strategies. I came to the decision to be a therapist as a young adult, learning that I didn't have the stomach for medicine after working as a medical assistance right out of high school, (See my website for more on that story-LOL), and still wanting to do something to help other people. I chose Psychology as a major and later specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy in graduate school. My professional work started on college campuses as a student, then in a community agency, a prison, and then I began working in private practice in 2002. I've benefitted from the variety of places I've worked and people I've met along the way. Therapy is about growth and healing and I'm grateful to be able to bear witness to positive changes happening in the lives of my clients. It brings me true happiness and fulfillment.
