Introduction

Many of us are juggling numerous responsibilities, often feeling like we can never catch up in a world that doesn’t shut off. The cultural dilemma of being available 24/7 places increased demands on our time and energy and personal resources. These demands are layered on top of existing systemic barriers, COVID challenges, climate change - and so many other global and personal factors. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed and out of balance. We may feel these imbalances physically, emotionally, spiritually, and in our relationships - including our relationship to self. We might feel lost or confused about how best to live authentic and meaningful lives. Sometimes our imbalanced energy causes physical discomfort and disruption - fatigue, low energy, digestive issues, chronic pain, insomnia. Sometimes it creates conflict and heartache in relationships we hold dear. Talk therapy can be helpful for developing insight, reframing thinking, skill-building and problem solving. This cognitive approach can be enhanced by integrating a somatic, or body-centered perspective. Learning skills to address sensations and symptoms in the body, in combination with traditional psychotherapy, helps us learn how to release the stress and tension, grief and trauma that is often held in the body. As a trauma informed therapist, I am also certified in EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy through the EMDR International Association. I help clients develop an understanding of the mind / body connection. Using evidenced based practices from movement and yoga, breathwork and mindfulness, clients build skills in self-care and stress reduction, regulating emotions, and enhancing interpersonal relationships. It is a privilege to work with people seeking peace of mind, body, and spirit. Your courage, resiliency and your personal strengths will be highlighted in our work. It is an honor working with people pursuing goals that include living with balance and ease, clarity, and authenticity. I respect the richness of human diversity and strive to create a safe and open space where clients feel respected and empowered. I’m currently offering telehealth appointments.
