Alliance NOVA, PLLC was established in 2018 by Northern Virginia native, Melanie Fraim, M.Ed., LPC. Melanie has over 15 years of experience working as a mental health professional. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan in 2000 and earned her Master's Degree from George Mason University in 2007. Melanie has enjoyed a diverse career working in community mental health settings (residential treatment, outpatient treatment, juvenile detention centers) and in private practice. She has extensive experience working with a variety of populations, and has found her passion to be serving the needs of adolescents, young adults, and parents. Melanie utilizes cognitive-behavioral and strengths-based strategies to help clients achieve their treatment goals. Areas of expertise & interest include: depression anxiety LGBTQ+ population divorce/blended families adjustment disorders school transitions (middle school, high school, college) social skills mood disorders stress management/coping parenting life changes and transitions
