Introduction

I am Melanie Calhoun, an LPC focusing on women’s issues and maternal mental health. My specialization lies in providing support to women facing life’s challenges, from everything in relationships, careers, and motherhood, such as mood and anxiety disorders and fertility issues, and navigating the impact of parenting on personal and professional aspects of life. My journey into the mental health field began with a desire to make a difference. After a marketing and management consulting career, I decided to transition into counseling. As a mother, I've faced the challenges of motherhood firsthand, which has ignited a passion to support others on this journey. During our sessions, you'll find a nonjudgmental space where we can explore your world together. My counseling style is culturally responsive and narrative-based, focusing on perinatal mental health and caregiving transitions. In our work together, I honor your story and recognize how cultural context shapes each person’s experience.
