Introduction

My name is Melanie Danielowicz and I have been working as a mental health and substance use therapist for 13 years. I began my career in Elementary education so I specialize in working with children and their caregivers. I have a great deal of experience working with adults as well. If you're feeling anxious, stressed out, or depressed, this might be the opportunity you have been looking for to overcome these challenges. Over the years I have worked with people of all ages to have a safe, confidential place to talk through the things they are dealing with. I have a history working for a non-profit community mental health center as well as an agency and wanted the opportunity to offer services in a private practice setting to provide specialized services to help meet the needs of the community. I have joined with the other practitioners at Renaissance Mind and Body with the hopes of providing a range of services to help our clients find strength in a holistic way. My love for therapy began when I worked as a crisis counselor and that combined with my love of teaching put me on the path to becoming a licensed counselor. For the first few years, I provided services exclusively to children and their parents to help with overcoming behavioral challenges and assist with the development of healthy parenting skills. I then transitioned to another agency which included helping clients, both adults and children/adolescents, process trauma and overcome mental health struggles and addiction issues. I am local to this area and am a graduate of Brooks High School ('89) and the University of North Alabama ('03) & ('10). I have been married for 30 years and have three adult children. I also love animals and currently have 2 dogs and a cat. My hobbies include cooking, painting, watching Alabama football, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you and begin the journey. Call me to get started today!
