I have had the opportunity to work with diverse populations and backgrounds. Working with at-risk youth and in community mental health has allowed me to gain experience in lower socioeconomic and unhoused populations. These experiences, along with my time at a substance abuse treatment center have allowed me to gain extensive knowledge and experience in substance abuse, addiction, and dual diagnosis. I have experience, and am comfortable, working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. In my work, I ensure to always meet the client where they are. This creates a client-centered approach. I support my work with evidence-based practices. This allows a space for the client to feel empowered, and supported, but also reinforces the importance of the added benefit from a professional. I have made it common practice to remind all clients that therapy can be a lot like dating. It is important for both parties to feel comfortable and feel that it is a good fit. Every therapist and client is different. This is an important reminder because every journey will look different, but none is less valuable than the other. I make it a point to hold space for each client regardless of their beliefs, backgrounds, or values. If you feel that you are ready to reach out and ask for help, schedule a consultation call with me. If you feel like you need help but are afraid, reach out anyway. There is no such thing as a human being who isn’t afraid. But there are human beings who understand being afraid in no way stops you from doing what you gotta do.
