Megan and her family have lived in the Grand Rapids area for the last 8 years. Megan is a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan with over 10 years of experience in the field. She attended undergrad at Grand Valley State University focusing on psychology and sociology before attending the University of Michigan for her master’s degree. She has worked at a non-profit organization and three major hospitals in the state, supporting patients and families facing illness with experience in oncology and palliative care. Megan has a wide range of experience working with children, teens and adults focusing on life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and navigating challenging relationships. Megan has extensive experience working with clients and their families navigating serious and chronic illness. In recognizing that each person and the challenges they face are unique, Megan’s practice style is dynamic and individual to each person she serves. She is trained in grief counseling, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and utilizes a person centered and strength-based approach built on trust and shared goals to best meet your therapy needs. It takes real courage to be here and to show up for yourself. Experiencing personal struggles, relationship issues and loss impact how we see ourselves and the world around us. Together we will create a space of trust where it is safe to be vulnerable. In a space where you feel seen, heard and understood is where you will then be able to create change.
