Ad Astra Per Aspera: To the stars, through hardship. As a therapist, I’m passionate about partnering with adult individuals navigating life’s challenges, transitions, and disruptions, including relationship issues, self-esteem and identity development, mid-life issues, career transitions, existential anxiety, bereavement issues, and infertility. My work focuses on empowering clients to cope with ongoing struggling and suffering, while collaboratively exploring your beliefs, identifying unhelpful patterns, and gaining new perspectives. I feel that my client and I can figure out more together than either one of us could have alone. I utilize a combination of evidence-based approaches including EMDR, ACT, IFS, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment Theory. In addition, I often use Motivational Interviewing, psychoeducation, and perspective taking with clients seeking to more deeply understand themselves and others. Our work is ultimately shaped by your individual needs and goals. If you’re curious about joining forces, please click the contact icon at the top of this page to send a short description of your current situation and what you’re hoping to accomplish in therapy. We can also schedule a free 15-minute consultation call to assess if I can best support you on your journey. For more information, please visit my Psychology Today profile: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/megan-mcatee-lawrence-ks/1469936 I will begin accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas in Spring 2025. Until then, I can provide a superbill for my clients to help with reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions!
